Nuts About You!

Good morning! Sorry for not posting for a long time! I have been taking advantage of my summer vacation and getting some big projects done around this house!  It's never-ending though, isn't it?

Yesterday was my husband's 50th birthday. I had bought this Prima stamp awhile ago! I was meaning to make my husband a "just because" card but that never seemed to happen.  I have to give you a little background information here. We have a rotting out Cherry tree in our backyard along the farmfield behind us.  We had a squirrel family living in there.  Six baby squirrels were born in the Spring. My family has had the most fun watching these darn squirrels this summer. We shared many of laughs watching the backyard shananigans!  So a squirrel birthday card for my husband was very appropriate!

I copied a card layout that I saw out there in blogland some where.  I altered it a bit. The tag die is from PTI.  The paper is very masculine from Authentique (Loyal Collection). I was quite happy with the card when I was finished. Sometimes cards for men can be a bit more difficult. I guess the key is finding some masculine paper and go with it!

October Afternoon Cake Walk

Good morning campers!  Okay, you're not campers!  I got a little carried away already!  I am really excited about this post because I have a lot to share with you and it all uses the October Afternoon Cake Walk line. This is fun stuff right here! I'm telling you!  I made a few cards, and this one is my favorite. I used this 12 x 12 piece of paper and cut out the images on it. I was able to use most of them on the paper. I had to cut them strategically. Some I just cut out with a scissors like the little raccoon on this card.

Next up, I made this fun post-it note holders that Cindy from StarlitStudio showed us how to make here. I love giving these at gifts, and I thought the birthday theme would be great!  I made sure I ordered enough of the Cake Walk Word Stickers so that I could make a bunch! I was very happy with how they turned out.

Finally, I decorated these wax paper bags so that I would have a nice presentation of my gift. I used the Cake Walk Washi Tape to close the bag. That is such a nice tough. I used the Shape Stickers for the fronts of the bags. I like how each bag looks a little different.

Well today is going to be another cooker!  I cleaned up my stamp shop this morning and hope to feel inspired to start a new project! Stay tuned!  Happy Tuesday to you all!

Ladybug Birdhouse

Good afternoon!  Well it's still pretty warm, but it's normal warm. It's 88 degrees right now. Yeah!I just came in from playing some frisbe with my daughters and had a snack. There is NOTHING better than a nice warm brownie with a little bit of mint chocolate chip ice cream on top! OH MY!  It was heavenly!  I don't even feel guilty!

Today's card is made using yet another Whimsie Doodles digital stamp.  I really like how you can add your own details to this simple image. I added the stripes to the pole and the polka dots on the birdhouse. It wasn't actually my idea though. I saw someone do this on SCS with this image.

I think I am heading back outside shortly to read my book. It is a real creepy book that has pulled me right in!  Enjoy your Sweet Sunday!

Ewe Pals

So what have YOU been doing to cope with this heat wave that has been sitting across a good section of our country?  I'd love to hear.  In fact, let's make it fun!  I will pick a name from the comments for a sweet little treat to be sent to you!  I have drawers full of handmade goodies to pick from! I will pick from the names I have when I post another card! 

Today is supposed to be the day that a cold front comes through and brings us normal temperatures for this time of the year (80s). See we can good reason to celebrate! When I was looking at my pictures and trying to decide which card I was going to share, I thought "this will be me" when I looked at this one. Tonight. . . . cooler temps! I will be kicking up my heals!

Good morning!  My coffee is REALLY starting to kick in!  The temperatures are already rising and I'm wondering why the heck I am drinking coffee! Ha ha ha! Oh well! What are ya gonna do?

 

Today I'm sharing a card that I just love!  I bought a few digital stamps from Whimsie Doodles the other day and it really seemed to jump start my creativity again. Thank goodness!  I was starting to wonder if I'd ever be able to stamp again! The paper is from Jilliebean Soup and the pink checkered is Echo Park (Happy Days). 

These images from Whisie Doodles are so darn much fun to color. I think I will be ordering more real soon. I love that you get them instantly too!  

Well it's another hot one.  My husband is out golfing in this right now.  As for me, I think I will stay tucked inside today!  Soon we will be back in the 80s and that is going to feel cold!

Sparklers

Good morning! Did you get to see some fireworks last night?  My husband and I jumped in the car and drove down the street to see the Brooklyn fireworks. For a small village of about 1,200 people, they put on a pretty good fireworks show.

I had a lot of fun playing in my stamp shop yesterday. It was so hot out that there really wasn't any reason that we wanted to go outside for too long. We were even banned from having our Fourth of July cookout.  We are just too dry around here and have a burning ban in place. Which means no fire of any kind outside (no grills, no smoking even). Same thing for today which means, I am going to stamp some more! Yeah!  Well you have to make the best of it, right?

Independence Day

Good morning and Happy Fourth of July!  Crack, boom, bang! A friend of mine sent me this cute little stamp set by Stampendous and the papers that I used on this card. It was like a fun little kit for me to play with!  I had so much fun making these two cards. I really love using red, white, and blue.  It feels like summertime at it's best! It reminds me of picnics and watermelons and great family fun!

One thing is for sure, we are having a long, hot summer. Isn't that a song?  I went outside this morning to eat my cereal. It was 78 degrees at 6:00 in the morning.  I thought it would feel comfortable. Nope. It was just too humid.  So guess where I am hiding out for most of the day? Yep!  My stamp room! I have been in a stamping drought as of late, but I'm hoping to find some creativeness in me today!  I can hardly wait to play!

Simple Pleasure of Riding a Bike

Good afternoon folks!  Are you staying cool this afternoon. I sure am trying to in between slugging down more water! Tomorrow is the last day of me having to take Prednisone, so I am hoping to get some stamp time in soon. Right now it's hard for me to sit still. The plus side, is that I have gotten a lot of things done around the house!  I also squeezed in a visit to see my parents this week and it's only Thursday! I'm ready for things to slow down (in my head) now. 

Today I have another biking card to share. I again used the Taylored Expressions bike set, called Bkes & Trikes. I paired it up with Jilliebean Soup paper this time. I really love the look of these soft colors. I rarely use soft colors.  When I was up visiting my parents, I noticed they had some of the cards I sent on display.  It makes me want to send out more cards to my family and friends.  I need to keep on this!  I know I personally love getting mail!  Nothing compares to the snail mail kind!

Birdie Brown Pup Pocket

Good afternoon everyone! Today is a beautiful day!  I enjoyed a nice drive back from the city with the windows down and the wind blowing through my hair. I had a little shopping to do with my daughter. Now we are home and settling in.

Today I am sharing a card I made using a digital image from Birdie Brown. I just love this little pup! I combined him with mostly Lilybee Designs Paper.  My new go-to for cards is the Baker's Twine. If you are looking for a sampling of colors this is a good deal.

Okay I'm off to see what other kind of trouble I can get into today! I better fold the laundry first though! He he!

Beary Nice Flowers

Good afternoon! I'm taking advantage of some extra energy that I seem to have right now. This afternoon I did a bunch of re-organizing in my basement. Doesn't it seem like you have places where piles start and then they start taking over because things don't really seem to have their own home? I fixed some of that this afternoon. I hope my energy continues, and I can do some more re-organizing tomorrow.

For now, I'd like to share this card with you. I made it using a Darcie's stamp set. I also used Theresa Collin's paper called Spring Fling. If you like pinks and greens together this paper is a must!

Maybe I can squeeze some stamping in yet tonight! Happy Thursday!
