Happy Thoughts

Good afternoon and happy Monday to you!  We had a fabulous  cookout yesterday with our Chinese family!  It was all very interesting and a lot easier to communicate than I thought. Of course, we had one very good translater and that helped!  A couple of things that were really interested in were our Weber grill, our kitchen appliances (stove, slow cooker, etc), and the fact that we feed the birds.  They took a lot of pictures of the Weber grill and each dish that we served! It was really cute!  It will definitely go down as one of my most memorable occasions this summer! 

How about we move onto today's cards. I used a libray card (PTI) to showcase my digital stamp from Sweet & Sassy. I love this kind of a layout! I added some handmade crinkle ribbon and away you go!  The saying is from an old,old, clear set that I dug out when I was doing some cleaning. I like that saying! 

Okay I'm off to finish up some laundry! I hope your day is moving along fast!

Coffee and Cocoa

Good Tuesday morning to you all! It is another cool start to the day, but I don't mind one bit! I love this sort of weather!  Yesterday morning's walk was so nice that I think I will go on another one this morning! First, I must have my coffee though. Just like this sweet little mouse, Cocoa. He loves his coffee too! LOL!

There is something about the green, purple, and turquoise colors that makes this card so refreshing.  I like to play with strips of coordinating papers, as you can see in this card, to make backgrounds.  Then all you really have to do is plop an image on the card.  For this one, I used a Mat Stack from PaperTrey Ink. I like using those as card elements. Just a little tip for you!

Hello Babycakes!

Good morning! It is Saturday morning, and I was up bright and early to get this weekend going! I love mornings!

Doesn't this card just make you laugh? The rub-on is from Stampin' Up! and I felt it fit perfectly with the digital image from Sweet & Sassy!  I love the pinks and the oranges together! What a fun girlie card! The paper is from My Minds Eye.  They really do a great job of coordinating their papers to match so nicely!

I cut out a mat stack (from PaperTrey Ink) from some patterned paper and plopped my image right on it. I like how the pearls look on the side too! The mat stacks really help to showcase your main focal point in a different way!

Okay, I am heading into my stamp room. Oh what will I create today?!

I had two goals for my time off during spring break. One was to  exercise more regularly (as in as much as I could). The second was to get ready for our garage sale at the end of April. I started off just wanting to play in my stamp room. I had so much fun the first few days, but as my week went on, I started to feel guilty. 

So yesterday I started pulling out the junk and pricing it for my sale. WOW!  After 14+ years of stamping, I have acquired some "stuff".  I found out this morning that my Quickutz handheld thingie is obsolete! Ha ha ha!  Anyways, yes I am getting rid of some of my stamping and scrapbooking things, but I have no problem with that. Things have changed over the years.  I enjoy stamping so darn much. My style has changed, but I still love to stamp and make people smile. 

So with all that blah blah blah being said, here is today's card.  It is made with a digital stamp from Sweet & Sassy. I love this mouse, named Cocoa.  I like to print him off smaller so I can make cards just like this one. I used the Mat Stack 4 set from Papertrey Ink along with the die to make what I call a card element.  You will be seeing more cards like these because I just love making them!

Cocoa and his coffee!

Good Saturday morning (I still have a half hour before it's  Saturday afternoon). I love Saturday mornings. I wake up and blog hop a bit. Then I jump into my stamp room with my cup of coffee. I create a few cards and make a pretty good mess. Then I hop on my stationary bike and ride like the wind.  After I shower and eat, I feel all refreshed and ready to go.  I head back to my stamp room and just enjoy creating!  That's what I love about Saturday mornings!  So maybe you want to see a card, huh?

This little guy is a digital image from Sweet & Sassy!  I've been getting into some digital stamp a bit more.  I like that I can print off a whole page and have them at the ready for when I feel like coloring. Cocoa is the perfect image to color too. He is cute as can be!  I dug into my "Lana-cuts" backgrounds (backgrounds already made up). This paper is by My Minds Eye. My daughter asked why I put Cocoa the mouse with the owls?  They are friends. The owls promised not to eat Cocoa.  I just liked them all together, I guess, is the real reason I put them together. That's the fun of creating. . . you can do whatever you want!  There is no right or wrong!

I made my vintage card for tomorrow. Wait until you see it. I really love it!  See you tomorrow!
