From Our Patch to Yours!

Good morning! I ran out of the house bright and early today to get groceries before the Saturday rush starts at the store.  It worked! I was home by 9:30 and putting all my groceries away!

This card is made with the new Stampin' Up! set called Pumpkin Patch. It is very easy to work with and I love the different pumpkins! It reminds me of picking out the perfect pumpkin that you want to carve!  The black patterned paper in the back is Night & Day Specialty paper from Stampin' Up! I wanted to add a bit of color so I added a couple of strips of my Bo Bunny paper to it.  I also used my arrow punch (SU) to punch out a few arrows.  That makes for a little fun on the card!

I'm tellin' ya! I am hooked on Halloween again! I love it!

Tart and Tangy Strawberry Basket

Here's a fun little project that I have to share with you!  My friend, Lisa Zappa, shared this idea with me and of course, I took it and ran!  Pink Persimmon had this idea on their website.  I immediately had to order some of these strawberry baskets!  My daughters have been picking on me for weeks since they arrived. I had to order 600 of them. They keep asking me if I'm having a garden party!  Sure! I can't have a party!  LOL! I used the Stampin' Up! Tart & Tangy stamp set for mine.  I love the popsicle stick with the strawberry on it!  I went to wal-mart and stocked up on some fruity candy for these!  What a fun little sweet treat!  My oldest daughter loves Starbursts, and I notice that my bag keeps going down.  I'm going to have to lock my candies up!  I hope you have a day full of sweetness!

Please don't yell at me for not posting the Sunday Post yesterday!  I was up to my eyeballs in tie dying! I promised my neighbor girl that I would tie dye with her this summer.  Yesterday was the day! Boy is that a big project!  I'm heading outside shortly to rinse all of our projects. Yes it's a two day affair!  I promise I will make it up to you!

Extreme Surfer

I have been waiting to share this card with you.  We will be making this card tonight at my workshop.  The very first set I picked out from the new Stampin' Up! catalog was the Extreme Elements set. I knew I would get the Extreme Surfer for summer and probably the Extreme Snowboarder for winter. These cards are PERFECT for young guys. I have a hard time coming up with cards for men in the first place, but then when it's a teenager, it's even more difficult!This card was super easy to make and how cool does it look?  It's just a matter of combining your favorite color combinations for boys with the background elements and then stamping the main image in black! I can't wait to make more cards with these sets!  I am going to order more of the extreme stamps. I like that fact that each different sport can be purchases separately!  That way you don't get stuck with a sport you might not use! 

Also can you see the Linen thread that I used on the strip of kraft ? I think that adds a rough look to the card! You don't always want to add pretty ribbon to a manly type card!

Greenhose Garden

This is a must have set from the new Stampin' Up! Catalog!  The set is called Greenhouse Garden.  It stamps very realistic flowers.  They are just gorgeous and the details make you "oooh" and "ahhh" as you stamp!  This set is another  fun set to play around with different color combinations.  On this card I wanted a more vintage look so that is why I chose these colors (Red Riding hood Red, Enchanted Curry, Bordering Blue, and Old Olive).  I also used and old background stamp to give the over-all card some texture. I stamped off the background stamp TWICE before I stamped it on my card. I also added some vintage lace that I have to the card to give it that vintage feel again.  The button is and Always Artichoke buttons.  A lot of people ask me how I get the speckles.  The stamp is from the set called Itty Bitty Backgrounds. I use the speckles ALL THE TIME!  It really adds a lot to the card!  I tore the bottom edge of the background piece to add that aged look.  The Kraft card stock also adds a lot to the feel of the card. I was going for a very natural card.

So this set is one of my TOP PICKS from the new catalog. You can never have enough flower stamp sets!  Honest! If you pay attention, you use them the most!

Made 2 Last

How often have you sat down to make a card for a teenager or a preteen girl and sat staring at your work station?  It's a bit tough.  Well this new stamp set is meant to help you with this very thing! The set is called Made 2 Last.  I also used the coordinating wheel that is called Rockin' for the background.  I knew when I saw the wheel in the catalog that I wanted to stamp it in black and then color in random images.  Have you ever seen girls' folders or book covers?  They doodle all over them!  So that was my inspiration in this card.  The pocket stamps were very easy to line up, and I love the font with that flowing cursive writing!

Stampin' Up! was really thinking when they made everything separate for the pockets. This way you can use different color inks without a problem!  You could also cut the top of the pocket with an exacto knife so that you could stick a gift card in the pocket or anything for that matter. How fun is this! This is the perfect set for teen-aged girls! Woohoo! 

On a pedestal

Good morning!  Are you awake yet? I figured I would continue to share all of my Stampin' Up! cards that I made the other day!  This set is called On a Pedestal.  It is one of those stamp sets that you can have fun with color!  It has many different layers and you can choose different colors for each.  I used Darling Dots for the background. That was a hostess set in the last catalog.  Do you see the circle accent?  I'm going to try doing this more because I think it adds a lot to your card.  I used and older set on that too, but if you page through the catalog there are PLENTY of circle images.  The best part is that you just use your circle punches to pop them out and away you go!  I added foam tape to my circle to pop it up a bit.  To me this color combo just gives you a fun feel that goes along with a BIG WISH for a happy birthday!

Another nice thing about this set is that it's easy to work with.  It's very easy to see the edge of the stamp when lining everything up.  Who doesn't like easy peasy?

The other set that I can see working real well with this set is called Birthday Bliss.  I could use some of those stamps for accents on my card!  Oh, now my wheels are turning!  I also was thinking about using the "May your layers be many & your frosting be thick" for a saying on the inside of the card.  Yep, there ya have it!  I just talked myself into getting this set on my next order!  LOL!  Boy, I'm easy to convince!

Well today is my last day of leisure until the party patrol has to get busy.  My daughter graduated from high school in June and we are having a family graduation party for her up north this weekend.  I'm looking forward to seeing everyone, but we will be super busy baking and cooking and preparing everything.  At least that will keep me out of trouble for a couple of days.  I'm going to try to get a few blog posts ready so that I can just click the button and make them go live while all this partying is going on.  I can't make you any promises, but I will do my best!  Enjoy your day!

New Stampin' Up stamps are in the house!

I'm so excited about the stamps I chose to order from the new Stampin' Up! catalog! I had a chance to play last week, and I am thrilled with the choices I made!I'm super excited about this new catalog. I even spied the new mini catalog that will be coming out soon.  Ackkkk!  I'm going to be broke! It is SOOOOOO GOOD!

When I first looked at the new catalog, this set, called Happy Together caught my eye. It's a small set and not much to it, but for some reason I knew I had to get it.  Well I made a good choice.  There is so much you can do with this sweet little set!  I decided to go with bright colors for this card.  I also used the new saying set called FYI (of course)!  I know I'm going to get a lot of use out of this set!  I used my new Rockin' wheel on the orange strip on the side.  It gives the card a fun personality!  And of course, no card is complete without my Stickles Glitter Glue or a button!

Coaster Books

Good morning! Are you awake yet?  I'm feeling a bit sleepy!  Today I want to share a project that I was hooked on last week before we left for Good Ol' Uncle Phil's house. I couldn't stop making these coaster books with my Bind-It-All. On this one, I used Stampin' Up paper called Parisian Breeze Specialty. I used the longer rectangle coasters from Eclectic Paperie.  I cut the flowers out from coasters with my Big Shot and a Sizzix flower die.  It cuts like butter, I swear! 

At my class last week we made smaller 4 x 4 versions of this. I was hooked on those too. I just kept making one after another! You know how I like to keep little gifts on hand!  It's a lot of fun to coordinate the paper and the buttons and the ribbon and even the coil for the bind it all!  Yahoo!

Hey, it's Friday today! WOW! What a fast week.  I still can't keep up!  I think our little visit to my BIL's really got me all out of whack.  Oh and guess what?  We've been off of school for two weeks now. I have over 100 miles in on my exercise bike! I am going to BLOW my exercise goal to smithereens!  I am getting fit baby!  I hope you have a great Friday and a SUPER START to your weekend!

Congratulations Eastern Blooms

Good morning! Good morning! Good morning!  I just finished 6.44 miles on my exercise bike and did that ever wake me up! 

My life has been crazy busy this week with doctor appointments. Yesterday, I gave myself my first injection with a needle!  I was a little bit nervous about it, but not too bad. I'm okay with needles and have never had problems.  But I was still a bit worried about doing it to myself.  After I did it yesterday, I told the nurse, "That was cool!"  Trust me, I've been the recipient of many thousands of pokes!  It is different actually doing it!  I'm hoping the Enbrel helps me!  I really need to get my life back on track and get back to being myself!

So any ways, my card today is made using the Stampin' Up! stamp set called Eastern Blooms. I love this set!  I think it's one of my favorites right now. I also played around with different color combinations on this one!  I made a pink version too! I love both of them!

I have good news to report on my exercise goal!  I am well on my way!  I broke a record this week!  I road 58 miles this week!  WOW! Keep exercising with me!  It feels good and has really made a difference in my mood these last couple of days especially!

 

 

Whoo-la-la

Here is a fun little card that I made using a Stampin' Up! stamp set called Owl Together Now. Owls have been so popular this last year.  I have some more ideas brewing in my head with this set. It's easy to use and fun all at the same time! Those are my favorite kinds of sets! I added some Stickles Glitter Glue on the owls' eyes. Can you see it? I think I'm going to have to order another case of the Stickles Glitter Glue. I love that stuff. That is the one thing I could NOT live without!  If I was going to a deserted island I would bring some along! LOL!

After today, I have one more 1/2 day left! I can't believe it! Then it will be time to get my body in shape and exercise away! I am excited to pick up a strenuous routine!
