Sunshine Day Special

Good morning my friends! I am awake early this fine morning and enjoying a little quiet time before this home comes alive!

Today's card is made with rub ons from October Afternoon. In case I haven't mentioned this, I love their rub ons. They are very high quality and easy to use. I never have to rub to hard and you always get a real nice crisp image. These rub ons are from the Cherry Hill line. The paper is all October Afternoon but from different lines. That is the thing that I love about October Afternoon. You can mix and match their different lines of paper. They stick to the same colors for the most part with shades that match. I love it. I have a whole big container of scrap pieces that I just pick from and create cards like this.

All right. . . I think I will sneak into my stamp room. Happy day!

 

Cd Case Magnet Set

Good morning folks. Are you recovering from the festivities? I know I am. We had a wonderful Christmas up north with good ol' Uncle Phil and the rest of the family.  We only had one little snafu. Santa forgot a gift for one of the kids. Oh my goodness did we shuffle quick to get that taken care of. Eight year old Kendall acted so mature about the whole thing. I was so proud of her. Ah it was a Christmas to remember! 

Oh and the best part was decorating the cd case with my new paper from October Afternoon called Holiday Style.Today I have some last minute projects that I made.  I came across this blog post and had to make some of my own.  A friend of mine had just sent me some paper with cute little penguins on them and I knew that would work perfectly.  I was also really excited when I discovered that the magnets fit into cd cases. I have a million (okay not really) cd cases, and I have always had a hard time because many things do not fit into them because they are so flat. This is the perfect project to use some of these cd cases up.  I ordered the glass domes and magnets from Sun & Moon and then I waited patiently. What a fun project this is. I used Glossy Accents to glue the punched out paper to the glass domes. All you have to do is swirl it around a little bit so that the Glossy Accents covers it evenly. Then I added the magnets with E6000. I plan on making some more of these for different holidays!

Holiday Style

Good morning my friends. Today I am going to share two cards with you that I made with my new papers and goodies from October Afternoon's Holiday Style line. Oh it is so pretty!  I named this card, Grandma's Phonograph.  I get rather nastolgic this time of the year. When I saw the record in the Holiday Style Miscellany I immediately thought of how we would have Thanksgiving dinner at my grandma's house when I was young. As grandma prepared the meal and such in the kitchen, my dad would haul out the records. We started playing Christmas songs that very day. I can almost hear the crackle of the old records. All of the vintage images remind me so much of my grandma. Every year she would give us a gift box, and we always new what was in it...yet another pair of crochet booties.  Oh my goodness we must have collected many, many, many slippers, scarves, mittens from her. All were made with her hands and her heart.

 I just love that October Afternoon created this line that brings me back to my childhood. Oh the good ol' days are filled with many hapy memories!

 

So Sweet

Good Morning! Happy Monday! It is back to reality today. Boy was it hard to get up this morning! I hope everyone is starting to wake up a bit more than I am! Today's card is brought to you by October Afternoon Cherry Hill Rub Ons. I love using the rub-ons. These happened to be just leftover sitting on my work station. I had the spellbinders cut-out sitting on my table too. I like to cut up some small scraps of things so that I can just grab and go. Sometimes this way of creating works. Sometimes it doesn't. All of the paper is from different lines from October Afternoon. One thing I have learned is a lot of their different lines coordinate. I love that. I used a sticker from SRM for the saying. I am in love with the scallop from My Favorite Things. I cut out a bunch of scallops too from scrap pieces of paper and then have them handy at my workstation. I hope you enjoy your Monday!

Cherry Hill

Hello there stampers. Today is Monday, but it is like a "Monday-Thursday" for me. How cool is that? I have one more day of school before Thanksgiving break. BUT, before you get too excited, I want you to know that your teachers out there and anyone that works with children in your schools is really EARNING THEIR BUCKS this short week. Oh my goodness. The kids must be intuned with the vacation satellite or something!

I did a little bit of creating over the weekend. Oh how I love to create with the October Afternoon. I recently bought some Cherry Hill paper from StartlitStudio and the matching rub ons.  Also, just remember to check out both sides of the paper by clicking on the thumbnails. I oh and ah as I look through them. I love the bright colors of the Cherry Hill line. It just brightens MY day to create with them.

Here's the story

Today's card is yet another one of my favorites using all of the October Afternoon goodies. I made this card for my good friend in Minnesota who went shopping for me at the warehouse store. Oh my goodness does she get me excited about things.  First of all, she bought me the Thrift Shop stamp set for a gift. I stamped the doily on this card with that. Isn't it cool? I used my Hero Arts chalk in on it. I love the coverage you get from the chalk inks. On the rest of the cards I used the Thrift Shop rub ons.  When my hands are not feel the best from my arthritis, I love to use the rub ons. They are very easy to use. I have had some rub ons that no matter how hard you rub, they don't want to stick. Then you finally get them on your card and you can see your indentations from rubbin so hard. I can assure you the October Afternoon rub ons will not give you any kind of problems. I love them and have a great stock of them now.

Good Times

It's Monday morning! Back to reality, huh?  I have one last week of summer vacation, and then it is back to the grind stone for me!  I enjoyed my summer, and now I am ready to go back. I am going to focus this week on cleaning up my house real good so that is taken care of!  Let's just say that now that my oldest daughter is back to college, things will stay clean. LOL!  I know some of you probably know what I am talking about!

Today's card is made with goodies from October Afternoon (5 & Dime). This stuff is so much fun. I bought the rub-ons and the Miscellany. I love it all so much. It all coordinates, and you just can't make a bad card! Make sure you order enough the first time. I went back after the first few cards and had to make some more!

Maybe if I hurry up with my cleaning today, I can play with some of this October Afternoon stuff today. That sounds like a good plan to me!

 

P is for Pansy

Good morning and welcome to the Sunday Post. I have one more  Wild Card (October Afternoon) card that I have been excited to share with you. I love these Wild Cards! I have a box of just "junk" that I dig into for details on a card. I have some old dictionary pages (pocket size), some paper doilies, and other various items. The paper I started with is Pink Paislee which happens to go quite nicely with any vintage type card. Then I just started layering things onto my card. I knew I wanted to put the green leaf on to pull out the color from the Wild Card.  It just all came together quite quickly!  I had to add a metal P for Pansy, thus my title for this card was born!   

The weather in Wisconsin is beautiful. It surely doesn't feel like October around here!  Happy Sunday!

Rags the dog!

Good morning and welcome to the Sunday Post. I just realized I'm  late with my posting!  I got carried away with some things this morning!  I even got my bike ride in already!  Woohoo!  So today I am sharing a card that I made using October Afternoon's Wild Cards. I love them. They look very vintage and yet they are new, clean, and crisp!  I paired my wild card up with some old dictionary pages. I also have been cutting out some zig zag circles to use as embellishments. I love it. And I have a never-ending supply of colored paperclips. I really like using them on my cards!  I would have to say that October Afternoon is my favorite paper right now.  You probably can tell that by the fact that I use it all the time! 

I received some new stamps in the mail on Friday, and I have been enjoying them all weekend! Stay tuned!  Happy Sweet Sunday!

Good Morning!  I have been stamping, photographing, and editing my cards this morning! I have so much to share with you!  Fun times! 

This was my first week back to school. I must say that I love my job! I love working with kids and making connections with them.  The fifth graders are always a little shy and concerned about many things on their first few days (this is a new school for them and new kids from two other elementary schools).  It was a successful week and now we have a long holiday weekend to play. My plans are to stamp, relax, bake, read, and relax!  Oh and I will probably have to clean but who wants to think about that!  LOL! 

On this card I used October Afternoon Paper. I used the lace ribbon from StarlitStudio. I am in love with the Wild Cards from October Afternoon. I'm having troubles getting the new typepad software to link you to the items so please just stop by www.starlitstudio.net to find the goodies!
