Once Upon a Springtime

Good Saturday morning to you!  I was up early and playing in my stamp room before anyone else even cracked their eyes open!  I was a bit disappointed last night when I tried to create. I think I was too wore out from the work week to get my creative juices going.  I feel much better about creating this morning!  I guess I am just a morning creator!

With that being said, I have four cards to share with you!  I told you, I feel better about creating today!  I made all four of these cards with Graphic 45 paper.  Once Upon a Springtime is now one of my favorites. I have gone through about two pads of them already. I really should have ordered more the last time.  I love the colors. I love the patterns. I love how everything coordinates!  Do you see the cool main images that I used. They even have pages of those in the pad of paper. All you have to do is cut them apart.

The paper is two-sided and believe me, I had a tough decision a few times on which  side to use! As you can see, I dug into my lace and button stash to give the cards a bit of detail. Mostly, though everything came straight from the Once Upon a Springtime Paper Pad. It doesn't get much easier than that!  One of the things I really like, too, is that each card has a look of it's own. There is so much cool paper in this pack.  I know I will use it for other cards, not just to make cards with their images.  It has an old fashioned look to it with a touch of whimsy. I love it! 

I am drinking some coffee and have plans to get back in my stamp room at some point today and play some more. Yippy!

Happy Halloweenie!

Good morning and welcome to the Sunday post! Here is another card that I made with Tim Holtz's set called Spooky Stuff.  I also used his mask called Timeworks.  I really like how you get that lighter image on a card. I really think it adds a lot to a card. I used a couple of stamps from the Psychedelic Grunge set (the stars and the dots).  I inked up the stars with a gold paint dauber.  It really gives the stars a raised edge to it. Can you see the scratchings up in the right hand corner? I used my Retractable Craft Scratcher (by Tim Holtz) to add that worn look to my card. The last thing I did was add speckles to my card using Alcohol Ink Metallic Mixatives - Pearl and a speckling brush. It really is a lot of fun getting down and dirty and playing with these other techniques! I'm usually such a clean stamper!

Well we got our daughter off to college yesterday. I think she will do very well on that campus and learn a lot! It will take a little adjusting around here without here, but I'm very excited for her.

The other big news is that I finished my summer exercise biking at 433.19 miles. That is 133.19 miles over my goal. Now that school will be starting I will be figuring out a new goal in the next couple of weeks.  Maybe I should just keep adding my miles to my summertime miles!  I will definitely keep exercising!

Grunge Flower Card

Good morning! Today I'm going to share a card with you that I made with Wendy Vecchi's Studio 490 stamps. One of the things I love best about the Studio 490 stamps is that they all coordinate.  The other thing is that I love her background stamps. I don't think there is another company that compares to her backgrounds!  On this card I used a new set called Lower Case Art and an older set called Dreams of Art.  I made the big flower out of Grunge Board, but I would recommend using Grunge Paper now that that is out on the market. The Grunge paper is going to be thinner and easier to send the card.  I stamp the images onto the Grunge paper and color the flower using Distressed Inks and the blending tool. Once I get it as dark as I want it. I cut out the pieces and glue them together with the Glossy Accents.  I love using this as a glue because it is fast drying! 

Did you guys know I like purple now?  LOL!  (That is for my friends that love purple, and I always cringed at that color!  Purple has really grown on me!)

Teachers Clipboards

Good morning! WHOOP WHOOP WHOOP!  It's Friday people!  Wake up and lets get this day over with!  (You may notice my burst in energy here! Could it have something to do with the fact that I'm back drinking my morning coffee? OH HOW I HAVE MISSED IT!)

A couple of weeks ago I made these clipboards up using the Imaginisce line of paper called Teache's Pet.  I love this line!  The details and the variety of things that they have from the stamps, to the chipboard stickers to the rub-ons just make me happy! A friend of mine gifted me for my birthday and I decided to keep the gift of giving going!  It has been so much fun making up special little treats for some of my friends at school.  It just makes you feel good to spread some cheer!  If you work in a school you know that this time of the year can be tough. Kids have a tendency to check out before the end of the year.  This is when teachers start getting burnt out.  So to keep my friend going and to keep everyone happy, I've been gifting those around me!  It's good to celebrate another year coming to an end!

So what are your plans for the weekend?  I'm gearing up from my summertime exercise routine. . . which includes exercising EVERY DAY.  Can I do it? Won't you join me?  Exercise is so good for you on so many different levels. Starting June 1st, I'm making a committment to get some sort of exercise every single day.

Happy Birthday, Joy!

Today I have a very special card! Today is my good friend Joy's birthday! WOOHOOO!  Happy birthday Joy! Joy is one of the most special people I have ever met in my life. She has a heart of gold!

Our Craft Lounge is releasing an exclusive stamp set for Eclectic Paperie TODAY! The set is called Hanging Loose with Kona.  This card was made with this set.  Joy loves Kona so a few of her friends wanted to surprise her on her birthday!  Isn't he the cutest?

Teacher Tins

Good Morning! Good Morning!  I've been slapping myself all morning trying to wake-up!  At least it is Tuesday already! It's always hard going back to school/work after a long weekend.  Our days are numbered though so I think I will survive!

Today I'm showing you two tins that I made with the Imaginisce line called Teacher's Pet.  This stuff is so much fun especially when you work at a school!  Maya Road has my favorite tins to alter because you can take the handles right off. That is such a big help when altering! This one is the Coffee Break Tin. I used some of the chipboard stickers as embelishments. They are so cool! I love matching up my ribbons to tie onto the handle. That really adds so much to this sweet little gift!  I filled these up with some chocolate (just what we need to get through the school year!)

Hero

Good morning and welcome to the Sunday post.  Today I have a very special post dedicated to my nephew who is fighting the war over in Iraq. He is a hero to me.  This memorial weekend I honor the veterans who have fought before him. I'm very proud of my nephew. This is his second tour of duty. We miss him dearly and hold him close to our hearts while he is away.  If you know a veteran, please remember to thank them for their service.

I better switch gears and go into the details of this card before I get too emtional.  First, I started with a jumbo tag and distressed it with a combination of Distressed inks.  Then I took the Tim Holtz set called Psychedelic Grunge.  I stamped the stamps in various shades of red and blues. Then I took the Vintage Photo (distressed ink) and dirtied it all up a bit more. The star is from Tim Holtz's grunge. I colored it up with Fired Brick Distress Ink and a Foam Blending Tool. I grabbed my tin with metal letters and picked through it until I found just the right letters that I wanted to use.  I also used some Crackle Paint on the card. I LOVE THIS STUFF. You just paint it on and it dries all crackly.

School Note Totes!

  Good Morning!  I'm late posting today because I had to run to the grocery store this morning!  One of my new hobbies is using coupons and I saved $17 today! WOOHOO!

Now onto my projects that I just whipped up!  A friend of mine sent me some Imaginisce goodies for my birthday present. She felt bad because her gift was late, but I didn't feel bad one bit! She seemed to think she had to make up for it being late!  I love celebrating my birthday a couple months later! LOL!  Anways, on these Note Totes I used the Imaginisce Teacher's Pet line of cardstock. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS STUFF!  On the covers, I used my Nestabilitie to cut out the circles and ovals. Then I used the Imaginisce Rub-ons.  These Rub-ons are TOP QUALITY! 

I can hardly wait until I go back to school on Tuesday because I'm going to share these with my co-workers!  I hope it helps them get to the end of the school year!

Good Wednesday morning! This winter has started off with a bang. After the winter we had last year, I'm really not sure if I'm ready! LOL!  So I decided to make a SPRINGY card!  Ha ha ha!  Isn't this little chic so cute? The stamp is by Penny Black.  The paper is Crate Paper. I love how they coordinate.  And you know me! I had to throw some buttons on my card and some Stickles Glitter Glue!  My friend Cindy laughed at me when I ordered 5 bottles of the Crystal Stickles Glitter Glue.  I don't think that's funny at all! One weekend, I went through almost a WHOLE BOTTLE of the stuff! What can I say! I like a little GLITTER on my cards!  I hope you enjoy your Wednesday!

Happy Birthday Glitter Kitty

Good Sunday morning to you!  I'm up early once again and ready to start my day!  This is another card where I had previously pieced scraps of paper together and then sewed the seams.  I had a big pile of them, and I figured it was about time to use them up.  I grabbed this Penny Black image that my friend, Lisa Zappa, stamped off for me  I colored him in, added some Stickles Glitter Glue, and slapped him on the card!  Easy as pie! 

I have lots to do today so I'm going to get after my long list and be productive!  First though, I better make some coffee!  Happy Sunday!
