Thank You Bear

Good morning! It is Sweet Sunday today.  Today's card is made with a stamp set from Darcies that I was lucky enough to get for a Christmas present this last year!  Santa sure knows what I like! After I colored the image with my copic markers I used I Kan' dee Pearlescent Chalks to add the sunshine in the back of the flowers. It is just a nice extra touch and looks very shimmery. The picture here does not do it justice of course.

The paper is from October Afternoon. I love to dig into my scrap box and mix and match the papers. I also like to use Divine Twine to add a bow to the corner. I really like this double bow.  It seems to add just the right amount of color and detail to the card.

Look who's posting. . .

It's little ol' me!  I hope you all have enjoyed a fantastic holiday season. I have had the best Christmas in years! I think it's because I did the best I could to just relax this holiday season.  I "let go" of a lot of the things that would normally make me stressed out.  I really enjoyed my family. We have one more Christmas to celebrate tomorrow, but I wanted to jump on here and let you know that I'm gearing up for a New Year of BLOGGING!  My time off has been nice.

A lot of you have been e-mailing to let me know that you are thinking of me. Each e-mail has really meant the world to me.  I am doing fine. Yes, I still have a lot of pain in my hands especially. I'm dealing with it though. I seen my doctor just last week and she has yet again increased my injection medicine.  Over my time off, I considered teaching myself to stamp left-handed. My left hand is better at this point.  I never got around to it though.  I am starting to do more and more with my left hand just out of necessity.  I have stamped while on break from my blog.  It's slow-going, but I have really learned to just putz around and enjoy it.  I'm going to make it just fine!  LOL!

My goal for this next year is to take care of me.  I like that!  And yes, it includes exercise. I haven't been the greatest on my bike this month for a number of reasons.  I did go a complete week without exercising even. YIKES.  I know that exercise is very important to me because of my arthritis. I am up to 900 miles on my exercise bike since June 18th. Not too bad!  So my goal is to continue exercising and to really watch out for myself. If I have to cut back on things, then I will.  I will NOT let this pain from arthritis get the best of me. I am a fighter! 

Today I am sharing some thank you cards that I made using these U-Cuts from Darcies.  They are printed (colored in) on the 8 1/2" x 11 sheets. All I did was cut them out and attach them to my card with foam tape.  Easy Peasy.  Oh, I did add some Glitter Glue to the images to add a bit of dazzle. You know me! I can't live without my glitter glue! 

Okay folks, thanks for letting me ramble on. I hope you are looking forward to the new year of blogging as much as I am.  I took a ton of pictures today of projects to showcase on here. YIPPY!   

Penguin Cocoa Boxes

 One Saturday morning I was just messing around with making some different sized boxes.  These are a simple box patter that I used.  The top and bottom are separate.  Then I got creative and cut out a circle and attached acetate to the inside of the box!  The stamps are by Darcies.  What better of a combination than hot cocoa and penguins?  I was just tickled when I spotted these stamps!

Here is a smaller version. I really had to cram the hot cocoa into this box.  I would make it a bit bigger next time!  I bet there are all sorts of holiday goodies that you could put into these boxes though!

Hey guess what?  Today is Friday!  If you are like me, you have a gazillion things going on this weekend!  I better start making my list of things to do!

Santa's Mouthful of Goodies

Check out this SWEET little box I whipped up using one of Darcies new stamp sets called, Santa's Frames.  Santa was hungry for some candy!  LOL!  I cut out his mouth and then attached some acetate to the back so that you could see right inside.  Santa does have a sweet tooth ya know! The box is a simple box design. I just picked a size and went with it!  So very easy and you can fill it with anything you want!  Chocolates, mints, whatever you find!  Darcies helps you along with the best project ideas too!  They certainly get your creative juices flowing with a few pictures of ideas!

Santa's Favorite DVD Tin

When I saw this saying in this set by Darcies, I knew I would be purchasing it!  I always joke with a group of my friends.  I tell EVERYONE of them that I LOVE THEM BEST!  And of course, they all play it up as well.  They save cards that I write that in to them just to show the other friends the "proof" that I love them best!  It's just a fun little on-going joke!  Yep!  I knew I was buying this set!  LOL!

The set is called Santa Loves You.  It works great for bigger projects such as this DVD Holiday Planner.  The DVD tins can be purchased over at Eclectic Paperie.  The ribbon looks like soft little snowflakes! The ribbon came in a package by Websters.   So I'm guessing that you want to see the inside too?  I made a nice little pocket on the inside that you could keep receipts or anything else!  Then I cut down a 5 x 7 notepad to include in the tin.  I love wrapping some coordinating paper around the top. It's so simple, and really pulls it all together!   I have been having so much fun this last week working on holiday projects!  I get going on one idea, and I just can't stop! My parents always taught me, that handmade gifts are the best ones!  I guess I took that to heart!  Happy Saturday!

Darcies Tab Top Box

Here is yet another Template from Darcies. This one is the Tab Top Box and it comes in 3 different sizes. I made the small one.   For this pattern I picked whatever paper I wanted to use!  In this case it was the new Heidi Grace Reagan's Closet line.  I love the bright colors and doodles of this paper.  So I traced the template out on the paper, scored where indicated and cut out.  Then it was just a matter of assembling it! Easy as can be with the Darcies Templates!  The rest of the project is embossing it however you like and making it your own!  That is the fun part!  And of course don't forget to fill it with candy or some other treat!  For the tag I used the matching Heidi Grace Rub-ons.  This was so much fun to make and I know just who I'm going to give this to!

Darcies' Penguin Box

One thing you may not know about me is that I LOVE PENGUINS! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THEM!!!!!!!!!  This is a new template offered by Darcies  (item SKUC54).  It's not even up on their website yet.  I belong to a club with Darcie's where they send me a new templated and fun goodies along with a stamp set about every 8 weeks.  I signed up last November when they were in town and have not been disappointed. It's always a suprise when I get it in the mail!  Well I was SUPER EXCITED this time around when the stamp set included two cute little penguins!!!!!  And the template is awesome! I love the colors on this box!  I can't wait for Darcie's to be in town next month!  I'm saving my money!

Pick of the Patch

Here is anothe project by Darcies.  It is called the Pick of the Patch.  These templates are a bit different. They come printed right on a 12 x 18 piece of cardstock.  All you have to do is cut the template and the extra pieces out and assemble. It has the scored lines right on the printed cardstock.  These are great for a quick gift!  There's not a lot of designing involved in them so you can save your creative juices for another project! 

Our Fall weather is back today!  Every time I look out our back window it seems as though the fall colors are more intense!  I really enjoy the way the trees all change this time of the year! 

Darcie's Purse Bags

This past weekend, I did a lot of putzing around with my Darcies Templates!  I got hooked on these last November when Darcies was in town for a Stamping Show!  Boy did my credit card take a hit!  LOL!  This Template is item # PSX03. Now I have to tell you that I have the worst time navigating through their website.  It could just be me! So before you go to their site make sure you have some patience with you!  It will be worth it!  Or you can just wait for me to showcase some more goodies!  I have a bunch of their templates and I have dug them out and am looking forward to playing!     

Here are two more purse bags that I made!  For all three of these, I have used Stampin' Up Designer Series Paper. The first bag on top is made with the Holiday Treasures Designer Series Paper. The two right here are made with the Frosty Days Designer Paper.  I just spurgled yesterday and ordered a bunch more paper so that I can make these cute Purse bags for gifts this upcoming season!  YIPPY!
