Good morning and welcome to the Sunday Post! I'm quite pleased with how my vintage card turned out yesterday! What do you think?  The first thing I want to point out is the music background. I used a stamp from Hero Arts called Music Background (Huh! Imagine that!)  I stamped it on Very Vanilla cardstock and then inked it up with Vinage Photo Distress ink. I think it looks just like old music paper! 

Next, I want to mention the butterfly and the circle accent.  The circle is from a sheet of paper called "On Holiday" by The Girls' Paperie.  It's a whole sheet of grid paper with different circles on it. I'm going to punch them all out and use them as accents. Woohoo. The butterfly is from a sheet of Graphic 45 paper (Botanicabella Collection). I simply cut the butterfly out and attached it with a small piece of foam tape in the middle. I folded up the wings to make it look like it is flying. I love it! 

And last, I used a Martha Stewart punch with the same paper that I used on the bottom of my card (I think it's Pink Paislee paper) to pull the card all in together. 

 

Learn the Basics

Good morning and welcome to the Sunday Post. I've been dilly-dallying around this morning feeling like there was something I was forgetting to do.  Well "duh"!  I forgot to post to my blog!  So here it is!

I used some of my favorite new vintage paper, Graphic 45 on this. The colors are so vibrant! This card literally took about 5 minutes to make. I paired up the paper with my main image and bing, bing! I was done. Oh and don't forget the crochet ribbon! I love this stuff. It's from May Arts. I think I need to order more because I use it all the time.  I also dug out some hardware from my stash from Stampin' Up! I have enough of that to last me a lifetime (not that I'm mentioning my cramped quarters again-he he)!

One last thing, I can't live without my foam tape.  I use it on just about every card that I make. My last roll was dwindling down (and scaring me) so I finally ordered some more!  The last time I ordered, I ordered three 72 yard rolls! That lasted me year and years!  We'll see how long two 36 yard rolls last!

Prisoner of Love

Good afternoon!  It's just me checkin' in after school!  This week is moving much faster than last week. That is a good thing, as Martha Stewart would say!  Today I'm sharing a special Valentine that I made for my husband. I cut out a tag card with my sizzix die. I made a card by put a folded piece of cardstock on the inside of the die edge.  You can barely see the difference in the shape, and then you have a card in the shape of a tag. 

When I pulled my sticker sheet (Crafty Secrets) out, I saw this sticker first. I knew I wanted to use it for my husband. I think it is cute and playful and funny all at the same time!  I also knew I was going for a vintage look. I stamped one of my old Stampin' Up! background stamps on the tag.  I used my foam blender with Old Photo Distressed Ink to dirty up the edges and make it look aged.  Then added just a slice of patterned paper and some lace. The seam binding on the top really pulls it al in.  I am sure my husband will get a kick out of this.  I'm so proud of myself for being ahead of the game with my Valentines!

Seeds, Plants, Bulbs

Good morning and welcome to the Sunday Post. This card was made using the Crafty Secrets Journaling and Notes booklets. You should know by now this is my favorite source for making vintage cards.  I found this newspaper print type paper at Archivers. I'm sorry to say that I don't even know the paper lines. I just chopped this paper up so fast and dug out a couple of strips from my stash.  I threw some ribbon on and added a button.  These cards are just so easy. It's all about coordinating colors with the paper and the main image!  That's the fun of making these cards!

Well it is Sunday. The best part is I have tomorrow off! Woohoo! I love three day weekends!  I am working on toning in my coloring skills.  Stay tuned!

 

Williams's New Cream Toffee

Good morning and welcome to the Sunday Post. By the time you are reading this, I should be halfway to my parents' place for a visit.  I am smart and thinking and planning ahead lately!  So here is my post for today. . . .

I used an image from my Crafty Secrets Notes and Journaling tablets.  I paired it up with some Graphic 45 paper.  The paper is from the Steampunk Debuntante Collectioon (teal) and Christmas Past Collection (red). After yesterday's post, you know I am drawn to Graphic 45's paper!  I love how detailed their paper is.  I love when I can match up the paper so perfectly to pull out the colors in the main image.  I also used a piece of an old dictionary in the background. 

One of my Christmas presents was the scroll punch that I used on this card.  It adds just the right detail to my card.  I am having a lot of fun with this punch. I also found out it is a good way to use up scraps of paper!

Today is Sunday so make sure you take some time to relax and some point today! 

Vintage Birthday Flower

Good morning and welcome to the Sunday Post. I got going on some vintage cards the other night so I have one to share this morning!  I really like taking a break from my "normal" stamping and trying vintage.  I recently had put together some of my backgrounds to have on hand. I chose some Blue Floral papers from A Cherry on Top. I was looking for some vintage type papers. I am always on the hunt now for vintage papers. I love slapping together these cards. It's just a matter of having the right papers. They also had pink floral which I had to get too!  It went perfectly with some other vintage papers I had on hand.  So on Friday night, I was ripping pages out of the Crafty Secrets Image Journal and Notes Booklets.  There were a ton that I wanted to use. This is my favorite part of creating these vintage cards (picking out the main image).  They all remind me of my childhood!  So any ways, then I dig into my vintage inspiration box. . . oh wait, that might be my favorite part!  LOL!  These cards all come together quickly and I just love the old, but crisp look to them.

Sweet Caroline. . .

Good morning and welcome to the Sunday Post.  I am up and at 'em already!  Today I have a card that I made weeks ago.  That's the nice thing about my recent lapse from blogging. I have tons of cards to share!  Tons, tons, tons! 

For this card, I paired up an image from a Crafty Secret Notes & Journal pages with My Mind's Eye paper. I love these little tablets and the  paper from My Mind's Eye is perfect for vintage looking cards.  I also had some My Mind's Eye brads on hand. Imagine that, huh?  They are a good deal. You get a ton of brads in each package. See that sweet little dood-dad in the corner. That is one of the specialty brads. I just plopped it on my card!  This card was so super easy!

I hope you enjoy your sweet Sunday.  I head back to work and reality tomorrow. It's been a very enjoyable weekend, though, so I can't pout too much! 

 

Clowning Around

Good morning and welcome to the Sunday Post. It's my favorite day  of the week to post on my blog. I really enjoy making these vintage cards, and Crafty Secrets makes it easy!  I absolutely love using their journal and notes tablets. I page through them one at a time and wait until an image jumps right out and inspires me!  LOL!  I used My Mind's Eye paper on this card.  I place the image on here with some foam tap and then added some vintage ribbon with a vintage button on top. Easy peasy! 

Today is Sunday! Yesterday we had a wonderful family day together, and I'm looking forward to more of the same. I am blessed to have such a nice family. Make sure you take time for them every chance you get!

Playin' School!

Good morning stampers. This week has felt like a long journey. On Monday we received some terrible news. Each day we have been more accepting, and I am determined to stay focused on enjoying life and appreciating every moment. So here we go!

 

Last Sunday I started making these vintage cards using Crafty Secrets Notes and Journaling tablets. I combined the images with new paper from My Mind's Eye. OMG! I am thrilled with the combinations!  I made a whole stack of cards,  and couldn't stop! This is the first of many you will see!  I dug into my stash of crinkled seam binding and found the perfect color to match!

It's time for gardening!

Good morning and welcome to the Sunday Post!  I hope you are up and enjoying the quiet of the morning!  I am having a cup of coffee while I write this post to you!

As usual I was paging through my Craft Secrets Notes & Journal books, and this image jumped out to me!  I liked all of the colors in the flowers. I used Pink Paislee paper on my project. I really like their paper for vintage cards. I also dug into my lace and ribbon box (woohoo, I love doing that).  I really like how this card turned out.  Crafty Secrets really has the best images!

So what are your plans for this sweet Sunday?  I'm not quite sure yet. I am putzing around down in my shop and straightening up again.  I made a bunch of new cards yesterday (stay tuned) so I want to get them photographed so I can share with you!  Happy Sunday to all!
