Good morning and Happy New Years Eve Day Morning!  Ha ha ha ha! I am awake at the crack of dawn so it is a pretty good guess that I will not be staying up to ring in the new year!  I will however be spending today getting creative. I made up a bunch of challenges and found cards for inspiration. I hope to be a stamping fool this weekend!

Today's card is made with a digital stamp from Whimsie Doodles. If you didn't know, I love penguins. Aren't these little guys just the sweetest? The paper is all October Afternoon and the saying is a sticker from SRM.  The snowflake stickers are leftovers from all of my gift making over the holidays.

Time for Tea

Good morning on this rainy Friday. I am glad the temps are above freezing today.  I think it's going to be an indoor kind of day around here. I have to admit I kind of like those kind of days!

Today's card is one that I made quite awhile ago and never shared. I colored in this Lili of the Valley image with my colored pencils and gamsol.  These images are very detailed so I like to use colored pencils for them so that I don't color outside of the lines.  

I paired this up with My Minds Eye paper. I am still in love with this paper. I should perhaps dig it out and play with it some more!

Penguin Gift Sets

Good morning!  I have been buzzing around here trying to get a million little things done. It is amazing how far behind a holiday will put you. I feel much more organized and on top of things now.

Today, I would like to share a gift ensemble that I made for presents this year. I used paper from Darcies that has a shiny gloss finish to them. They made the packages look very sharp. I added cute penguin stickers to the fronts which made me smile as I was making them. I filled the little flip top purses with some candies. I put one of my post-it note holders in the pizza box.  I had so much fun creating gifts this holiday season. It is one of my favorite things--making homemade gifts with love!

Sunshine Day Special

Good morning my friends! I am awake early this fine morning and enjoying a little quiet time before this home comes alive!

Today's card is made with rub ons from October Afternoon. In case I haven't mentioned this, I love their rub ons. They are very high quality and easy to use. I never have to rub to hard and you always get a real nice crisp image. These rub ons are from the Cherry Hill line. The paper is all October Afternoon but from different lines. That is the thing that I love about October Afternoon. You can mix and match their different lines of paper. They stick to the same colors for the most part with shades that match. I love it. I have a whole big container of scrap pieces that I just pick from and create cards like this.

All right. . . I think I will sneak into my stamp room. Happy day!

 

Cd Case Magnet Set

Good morning folks. Are you recovering from the festivities? I know I am. We had a wonderful Christmas up north with good ol' Uncle Phil and the rest of the family.  We only had one little snafu. Santa forgot a gift for one of the kids. Oh my goodness did we shuffle quick to get that taken care of. Eight year old Kendall acted so mature about the whole thing. I was so proud of her. Ah it was a Christmas to remember! 

Oh and the best part was decorating the cd case with my new paper from October Afternoon called Holiday Style.Today I have some last minute projects that I made.  I came across this blog post and had to make some of my own.  A friend of mine had just sent me some paper with cute little penguins on them and I knew that would work perfectly.  I was also really excited when I discovered that the magnets fit into cd cases. I have a million (okay not really) cd cases, and I have always had a hard time because many things do not fit into them because they are so flat. This is the perfect project to use some of these cd cases up.  I ordered the glass domes and magnets from Sun & Moon and then I waited patiently. What a fun project this is. I used Glossy Accents to glue the punched out paper to the glass domes. All you have to do is swirl it around a little bit so that the Glossy Accents covers it evenly. Then I added the magnets with E6000. I plan on making some more of these for different holidays!

Thanks So Much

Happy Sunday morning to you.  I have had such a nice weekend so far. Yesterday I walked in the Jingle Bell 5K Walk for arthritis with my daughter.  It means so much to me to do that walk. It was a sunny day, but the temperatures were cold.  We were lucky this year to not have snow and ice to deal with on our walk. We finished in record time and hit a couple of stores for some quick shopping.

Anyways, todays card is a digital image from Zlatoena Designs. I love buying her bunnies in digital so that I can make them whatever size I want.  The paper that I used is Holly Jolly Christmas from Echo Park.  It is very bright and cheery.  After I colored my bunny with Copic markers I used a white gel pen to add details to the ice skates, scarf, and hat. I really love how that makes the design pop from the card.  It's also very simple to do.

Okay, I must get going. I have another list of things to do today! Happy day my friends!

 

Holiday Style

Good morning my friends. Today I am going to share two cards with you that I made with my new papers and goodies from October Afternoon's Holiday Style line. Oh it is so pretty!  I named this card, Grandma's Phonograph.  I get rather nastolgic this time of the year. When I saw the record in the Holiday Style Miscellany I immediately thought of how we would have Thanksgiving dinner at my grandma's house when I was young. As grandma prepared the meal and such in the kitchen, my dad would haul out the records. We started playing Christmas songs that very day. I can almost hear the crackle of the old records. All of the vintage images remind me so much of my grandma. Every year she would give us a gift box, and we always new what was in it...yet another pair of crochet booties.  Oh my goodness we must have collected many, many, many slippers, scarves, mittens from her. All were made with her hands and her heart.

 I just love that October Afternoon created this line that brings me back to my childhood. Oh the good ol' days are filled with many hapy memories!

 

Bike Ridin'

Good morning. Happy Sunday. Ah the house smells of fresh brewed coffee.  This is how I like to start my mornings.  This is a card that I made awhile ago for a friend who has been doing great with her exercising.  She reached her goal, and I was there at the finish line (figuratively) to congratulate her.

The card is made with punched out squares of all October Afternoon papers. I love the bright cherriness of it.  I used the scallop die from MFT. This has been my favorite die recently. I popped the scallops up on the card with some foam tape. In real life you can really see the difference in dimension.

My favorite little detail on this card  is the pearls in the bike spokes. Such a little detail, but it adds so much.

October Afternoon Farmhouse

Good morning!  It is Saturday morning, and you all know how I love Saturday mornings. I have my carafe of coffee with my downstairs. I am all set to enjoy some time in my stamp room. Before I do that though, I thought I would post a few cards I made with the brand new Farmhouse line from October Afternoon.  I have been waiting and waiting and waiting for this line and the Holiday Style (also from October Afternoon) to come out. 

 

Now I have a funny story to tell about this card.  I made up three cards with the new Farmhouse line (I had one 8 x 8 paper pad of it that I scored from one of the first places to get it in stock). This card was my favorite. My friend, Cindy, and I have been impatiently waiting for the October Afternoon papers to arrive at StarlitStudio's front door. I was so excited about this card, that I sent it out to Cindy before I took a picture of it.  I told Cindy that at least she would have a Farmhouse card arriving in the mail.  I also asked her to take a picture of it. Well things changed throughout the week. The October Afternoon line arrived at Cindy's house. The Farmhouse card arrived back in my mailbox yesterday. I laughed so hard. It had a post-it note on it from the postmaster saying I needed to add more postage to it.  I ripped that card open this morning and took a picture. I will put it back in the same envelope, tape it up, and send it out to Cindy again today. She will get it eventually, but I bet she is happier to have the full Farmhouse and Holiday Style line than my card!
