Good morning and happy Wednesday to you! Boy do I have a story for you. I better tell you about this card first! This is a Penny Black image coupled with My Minds Eye paper. What a great combination! This image is one of my favorites! Do I always so that? I sure feel like I have a lot of favorites! I popped the main image up with some foam tape. That is one of my key "go to" idea for cards. I like having the main image popped up more! I also like the sewn edge around the main image. I didn't use thread. I just sewed it along to get the holes.
Okay, onto my story. I had a little excitement yesterday. In the morning I noticed that my elbow was very swollen. I've had arthritis pain in it, so that's what I thought it was. Throughout the day the swelling around my neck and chin was getting worse and the swelling around my elbow. I noticed in the early afternoon that a rash was forming fast on my elbow. Then soon after that I could feel the swelling in my neck on my throat. It didn't take me long to figure out that I better get in for some medical attention. I popped two Benadryls right away! Thank goodness my youngest daughter was home and could drive me to the hospital (she just got her license in May). So off we went. I was not in a panic. I talked it out with my daughter and told her that I was not having trouble breathing, but that I could feel that pressure from the swelling on my neck in my throat. We were calm and cool. By the time we got to the hospital, I was starting to shake a little bit. I don't know if it was from the reaction or if I was getting nervous, because by then I was getting a bit nervous. Of course, they didn't mess around with me. They immediately put me in a room and had a shot of epinephrine in my arm. That got my heart beating good and I didn't enjoy that too much. Thankfully that was not long lived. Then they put some steroids in me through an IV. They took very good care of me and observed me afterwords. It didn't take long for me to feel an improvement. They sent me home with a prescription for some heavy steroids over the next 10 days and I will also be taking Benadryl for the next two days. This should fix me all up. I had an okay night. I dozed, then I woke up, dozed some more. I got more sleep than I figured so that is good! We'll see what today brings. I will be sticking close to home. I'm sure the steroids are going to have me out of whack for at least then next week! Watch out people! LOL!
So that's my story! Just giving you a little entertainment! Today I woke up and I just laughed. Nothing is every easy for me! What are ya gonna do!
ETA: The allergic reaction was from the Enbrel injections that I started for my arthritis. Some of you didn't make that connection and I didn't outright say what it was from in this post.

love the card-thanks for sharing!
hope you are feeling better soon-almost sounds like a spider bite?
get well!

OMW Lana....What do they think caused the swelling? It sounds like an allergic reaction. Thank goodness you went to the ER for treatmetn. Amazingly....you had time to STAMP...and it's a darling card! Take it easy today.

Lana, I am so glad that you are okay. I am so proud of your daughter for staying calm and getting you to the hospital. Your card is adorable. Did you use your craft kit?

Sorry to hear of your troubles! Definitely an allergic reaction. Hope it's not to the new med. Take it easy. I think the Rx for that is to stamp whatever you want and let everything else go! HaHa.

Lana, I love those Penny Black chickens too! They always bring a big smile to my face. So sorry to hear about your trip to the ER, those are always a little scarey. RA is no fun but at least it provides us with a little story once in a while. Benadryl always knocks me out, so kick back and catch up on some rest. You deserve and need it. Today is not a good day for stamping for me-the fingers are protesting-so I will catch up with a good book instead. Sending you hugs and a prayer or two!

WOW! I'm glad your daughter was there to help drive you! Allergic reactions to meds are NOT fun! Hope the steroids help.
