Alcohol Inks-Round Two

And the addiction continues!  I was on a mission to come up with a manly type card using my new Alcohol Air Splatter technique from Tim Holtz! I dug out my Tim Holtz stamp sets to take a look at them and see what I could use.  I immediately spotted the numbers stamp in the his Fairytale Frenzy set.  I knew this would work perfectly, but it was even better when I gave it a try!  And lets face it, cards for men are a bit more difficulut to come up with.  Men aren't into all that cutesy stuff.  Well this card proves to be perfect for them.  This proved to be another batch of fun and easy cards to make and now I have a stash for the men in our lives!  Honestly, this technique makes me want to open my front door and start screaming, "ACCCCCCCCKKKK!  This is so much fun!"

Oh and I must mention, here is another video for you to watch on this technique!  Sam is my friend Daisy's daughter! She is amazing!  In fact, the whole family is really quiet amazing!  I'd love to just spend a day or two with them!

Lately I've been using my Stampin' Up! rub-ons for my sayings on cards. I absolutely love how you can position them in the perfect spot and once you transfer them over, you have a crisp saying!  I don't think you can ever have enough rub-ons!

Birdie Bath Fun. . .

Here is a card in honor of the birdies that have migrated back north recently!  That is a sure sign that spring is here!  Now they may not need their beach umbrellas in the bird bath just yet, but soon it will warm up even more! 

This adorable stamp is from Whipper Snapper. The paper is from the Penny Lane Collection(My Minds Eye) which is available over at Eclectic Paperie.  What I've been doing with this paper is creating layouts with the coordinating pieces and then pulling an image from my stash and coloring it to coordinate.  So I have a pile of card layouts all ready to go.  It's really quite fun to create like this and I find you come up with different layouts from what you normally do.

Okay kids, it's time for me to share a new addiction with you!  For the last few weeks I have been totally hooked on this technique. Mind you, I've never been a big technique stamper. I just like to color!  A few weeks ago, my friend Daisy, turned me onto this video!  I was totally diggin' this technique. So I ordered up some bright alcohol inks and my daughter picked me up an air can on her way home from work one day.  I was ready. It was Saturday afternoon. I still hadn't showered. I had dug out all my bold stamps that I thought would look good with this technique. I started splattering my ink.  It was so much fun that I couldn't stop splattering. I went all afternoon.  I only stopped to stamp some images onto my splattered ink pieces.  Then I started layering my cool images on black cardstock.  I only stopped at about 5:00pm. I went upstairs and my family took one look at me and said: "you need to shower!"  I had totally gotten carried away with this technique. I had splattered so much ink that I had splatters on my legs and on my arms and on my t-shirts. It was oh so much fun!  By the time I quit Saturday night, I had 30 new cards made. I woke up the next morning and made 14 more with my images. Before 9:00am then next day, I had 44 cards made up. It was super fast and easy!  To say I'm hooked on this technique is an understatement. Every time I find a stamp in my arsonal that would work great for this technique, my addiction takes over yet again!

Time

Good morning and welcome to the Sunday post. I made this card a few weeks ago.  I just kept layering different stamps (all related to time) onto it.  Once I go the images stamped on there I was thinking that it looked kind of boring.  I grabbed my tin of metal embellishments and started digging. I decided to mix up the letters that I had. I love how that looked.  The other thing I did was grab a piece of twill tape and color it in with a Copic Marker that coordinated with my card.  I colored both sides and then let it dry for a few minutes.  I used a pin to fray the edges. Then I attached it to my card using a brad. Oh and can you see the masking on this card? I love Tim Holtz's mini masks. They can add just the right touch to your grungey cards!

Well today is Sunday. My daughters will be coming home tomorrow from their trip to New Orleans. I heard from them yesterday, and they are having an incredible time. I'm sure when they load up on that bus tonight after another day of fun, they will be ready to sleep for days!  I can't wait to see all their pictures and here about everything they did!

Special Day Hedgie

Good morning!  It's Saturday. I've had the last two days off, and I'm so relieved that it is Saturday today.  My husband will be home. I was SO LONELY the last two days with my daughters both gone to New Orleans!  I've really been out of sorts.  My husband is feeling the love as I am SO GRATEFUL to see him when he walks in the house after work!  LOL!  I should maybe tell him this won't last! Ha ha ha! (poor guy!)

This is a card I made using one of my new Penny Black stamps! I love this one. It has just the right amount of accessories to be able to add all of the colors I want that coordinate with the papers. Speaking of the papers, this is from My Minds Eye and it is part of the Penny Lane collection. I love this stuff!  It's very refreshing and perfect for springtime!

We had some storms roll through last night and boy we had a close strike of lightening! That woke me right up in the middle of the night!  I was able to get right back to sleep so now I'm raring to go on this Saturday morning!  I don't know if I even need coffee this morning! lol!  Enjoy your day today!

Friends Clothesline

Good morning!  Here is another one of my new Hedgie stamps that I got for my birthday!  I love these guys!  I happened to see that Eclectic Paperie has some of their hedgies on sale right now!  WOOHOOO!

I pulled out my round file tab punch for this card. I love using that to add a touch to your cards. I also used a Stampin' Up! Rub-on and added that to the file tab along with some brads. We've had some nicer weather lately and don't you just love the smell of clothes that were hung on the line outside?  I don't do it as much as I used to when my daughters were younger, but I still love that outdoor fresh smell!

It's going to be a quiet day around here. My daughters left on their trip to New Orleans.  I didn't sleep the best last night with them gone. I want them to have a fun, fun time!  I'm home alone all day today. I wonder what kind of trouble I can get into! LOL!  Happy Thursday!

Eastern Blooms Double Mask

Last week, I had my stamp class and this is one of the cards that we made!  I was quite impressed with myself on this card.  I originally had it planned to mask a rectange frame and then sponge the center and stamp my images. So I started with that. I used the set called Eastern Blooms. Then once I got that done, I thought, hey why don't I mask the inside rectangle now.  So that's what I did and then stamped the words onto that.  I sponged the edges to soften it all up!  If you are interested in this set you can order here. Now you may be wondering how I got the rectangle cut out of my scrap paper to mask it.  I used my Spellbinders Nestabilities.  And just think you can cut out any shape!  Oh the possibilities!   

You can also experiment with different color combinations on this card. Pick out a combo that catches your eye!  It will surely catch someone else's eye!

Birthday Yummy!

I had to pick me up some of the cute little changitos again!  I noticed that another batch of them came out so I hopped on- line and found some for myself! The stamps always make me smile.  I pulled out my We R Memory Keepers paper  and got creative with the designs of the paper. I cute out a swoopy from the paper and layered it on top of a coordinating pattern. Then I colored in my image with my Copic Markers and plopped it on!  I found some punch outs in the back of my big We R Memory Keeper paper pack and added the flower to embellish!  And you know me, I had to get out my Stickles glitter glue to bling it up! Doesn't that cake look yummy?

Carefree-Just beachy

Good morning! Wakey, wakey.  It's not exactly our favorite day of the week, but what are ya gonna do?

Are you ready for some warmer summertime weather yet?  Maybe this card will help! This set is called Just Beachy and it is from the new Stampin' Up! Occassions mini!  I am thrilled with this new mini catalog!  The coordinating wheel, called Lazy Days is what I used for the background.  I cut out the words "carefree" to embellish the main image. For the sand, I used some kraft cardstock and stamped the flip flops along it.  I tore the edge to make it look like real sand!  I can almost feel the warm sand between my toes! LOL!  I'm anxious to play with this set more!  It also comes with some cute little fish!  They are just waiting to be stamped!
