I Melt with You

  Good Morning! Here we are at Friday. I know today is going to be a very emotional day for me. I say good bye to my 8th graders.  I sort of feel like a mom abandoning my kids here!  The relationships I make with these kids is real.  And it is so heartwarming when 8th graders show you that they care. I mean come on!  They are teenagers!  Teenagers are NOT SUPPOSED to care about anything!  I really hope I have made a difference in their lives. It was not just a job for me.  I know that I will carry on this thinking with the 5th and 6th graders, it is just hard to say good bye.  

Okay now onto this card. This card was made with the PaperTrey Ink set by Lisa Johnson, called Love Songs!  This set makes me EXTREMELY HAPPY!  Oh there are so many possibilities with this set!  I'm very happy for Leese. I have watched her work since the very beginning.  We always laugh because we both remember a day when she said to me: "Do you think I can stamp?"  I said: "YES!"  Leese set VERY HIGH AMBITIONS for herself in the stamping world, and I think she has far exceeded them all!  And here she is now designing her very own stamp sets for Paper Trey Ink.  YOU GO GIRL!

For the Halibut!

This card is dedicated to my good friend QC, otherwise known as my Sissy, and her husband Carey!   They share my love for smoked fish!  *wink*  So when I saw this stamp and saying by Inky Antics, I was snickering to myself! Just for the halibut!  Is that funny, or what?  What a great play on words!   

I can't believe it's Thursday. I only have today and tomorrow left at work ,and then I start over again at a new school.  One thing about me is that I HATE (I know that's a strong word) good byes.  I just do not like them.  I would rather say: "See ya tomorrow!"  I am already in an emotional knot over having to say good bye to my 8th grade homies (that means friends).  They teach me so much every day, and I genuinely connect with them and care about them!  Oh man I'm getting choked up already. 

Okay quick, change the subject!  (lol)  I hope you have a wonderful day today and we can even start looking forward to the weekend now!

Fishing Hole

Good Wednesday morning to you! Good news! I have coffee today and it tastes so good!  Woohoo!  It was a slow start to the day yesterday without it!

Today I have a sneak peek for you from Our Craft Lounge. They have released over 20 sets at CHA this last weekend. Can you imagine?  This is one of my very favorites!  It's called Fishing Hole.  So stay tuned to their website, because they will be available VERY SOON! 

I really like how the words that appeared right above my stamped image worked out:  cheeky, smile, dude, play.  How perfect is that for this bear?  LOL!

Good morning kids!  It's time to wakey, wakey!  Now you know why my kids get annoyed with me in the morning!  LOL!

My friend, Piris, sent me this Penny Black alphabet set that she picked up for 50% off at Hobby Lobby. I was so excited about it and I knew immediately what I wanted to do with it.  I figured that I just had to have a LOVE stamp to go with the "U".  I was so excited about this idea that I could barely wait to get to it!  So I combined my idea with the We R Memory Keepers Valentine papers.  What a combo!  As I was making this one, I also figured out that I could do a "B" mine card. I haven't gotten to that yet, because I was so busy making these!  I had a blast with them!  The other stamp I used was a $1 stamp from Michaels that said: Much Love. I used my exacto knife to cut the rubber apart and then I mounted the "much" onto the other side of the wood block.  I did this so I could get good placment of the words which in this case was important!  How fun!

So here we are at Tuesday morning. We had a coffee pot malfunction last night and I don't get any coffee this morning!  The good news is that the coffee pot is okay. It just has to dry out for a day or two!  LOL!  I better go dig around the house for something else with a tiny bit of caffeine in it!  Ha ha ha!

Top Note Die Box

Good Monday Morning!  Wake up! Wake up!  It's my last week with my 8th graders!  I'm really going to miss my feisty kids!

Here's a fun little Valentine project that I made with some Crayon Box die cuts that I bought years ago from a gal that had an on-line business. She has sinced closed down.  I cut two of the Top Note Dies out of my designer paper. Then I used the crayon box in the middle.  I cut off the top flaps so that my box would remain open. I have really been getting my use out of my BIG SHOT and it feels good to be pulling that baby out for special projects!  The bears are another stamp from Whipper Snapper. I colored them up to match my paper and then plopped them on my box using foam tape!  I put some shredded paper in the bottom of my box and filled it up with candy.  What a sweet treat, huh?

Scenic Route

Good Morning and welcome to the Sunday Post. This is my favorite day of the week to blog!  I get to try out my vintage stamps and get down and dirty.  Boy, did I get dirty too. I should have taken a picture of my fingers after I played with my distressed inks!  It took two days for them to come clean!  Now that is really getting down and dirty!  This week I chose to play with my Tim Holtz set called The Journey.  I did pull in some other stamps, but the focus is really on that set. It's really hard to photograph these cards because they are so dark.  I'm working on it though. I think you can get the general feel of this card. My favorite part of this card is the saying along the side: Always take the scenic route.  That really makes me think that perhaps I should make it a point to slow down and enjoy this journey that I'm on!  The journey called life.  Just remind yourself every now and again!  Happy Sunday!

Friends and Laughter Puppy

Good Saturday morning to you. I couldn't sleep so I finally just got up!  That's just all the more Saturday I have to play around! I have a couple of new stamp sets that I may just play around with today! 

Today's card feautures more My Mind's Eye paper and another Whipper Snapper stamp.  Speaking of Whipper Snapper, they have their new releases up on their website. I always get excited when they are going to release more stamps!  So check them out if you are interested!

Don't you just love Saturdays?  I checked the thermometer and it is COLD yet again. Nothing to do but stay inside (warm and cozy) and stamp!  He he he!  You should hear the excuses that I can come up with for stamping!

Oh and there won't be an exercise check in later so if you are stopping by to check in, please post your success to this post.  I did something to my knee this week and I haven't been able to exercise.  I think it's getting better.  I tried to ride my bike on Wednesday to stretch it out, but that didn't seem to help. So I have to give it a rest.  It bums me out, but what can I do about it?  I'm telling myself not to let it bother me!  But anyways, I would LOVE to hear about how you did this week exercising so please let me know!

Thanks a Latte

Good Morning!  It's FRIDAY people!  The best darn day of the week!  Yippy Skippy!  I'm not even awake yet and I'm excited!  I almost called my friend Deb at 5:50am to tell her that it's Friday and time to get up!  LOL!  (good morning Deb)

Here is another cute little number from Inky Antics!  I had so much fun with this line called Confection Affection.  The name itself is clever!

The paper is more from my Minds Eye paper stack that I purchased at Hobby Lobby. I will have enough paper for my entire life!  Will that stop me from buying more?  Probably not!  I enjoy my paper collection!

So what are your plans for the weekend?  Hmmm. . . I will probably stamp!

Love Struck

Valentine's Day is sneaking up in a hurry. There's something about Valentine's Day that is so special. Maybe because it's not a big holiday and there isn't a lot of hype.  Some people spend tons of money on flowers around Valentine's Day, but to me it's all about giving a little Valentine to someone special.  Just a little something to say "I love you!"

My daughters and I always complain about the amount of jewelry commercials on the radio around this time of the year.  They replay them over and over again so that you pratically have the commercial memorized.  I don't think you need an expensive piece of jewelry to tell someone you love them.  Just a kind word or a little note in your Valentine makes me happy!

And remember when you were little.  You would write out those cute little Valentine's to your classmates.  "To: Lisa S. From: Lana L."  Ha ha ha!  And you would each have a Valentine box or a bag to gather all of your Valentine's. How much fun was that?  Ah the good ol' days!

Oh my gosh! It's Thursday already!  You know what that means? What day is tomorrow?  Our favorite day of the week! 

Pinkies Sheepdog

Good morning everybody!  This bright card should help to wake you up this fine Wednesday!  How did you enjoy the inaguaration yesterday?  Wasn't that something? What an amazing day in our history!  I had an exciting day all around!  I got a new position within our school district. I will be moving to our intermediate school and working with 5th and 6th graders.  I am thrilled. I will be working 2 more hours a day and with my oldest daughter going to college, this is a good move for my family!  I am going to miss all of my friends and especially my 8th graders at the Middle School.  I love the connections that you make with the kids.  It is the favorite part of my job! 

Now onto my card.  I used old Making Memories paper on this one. I have really been having fun using my Top Note Die and my Big Shot to make cards!  This was on thing on my creative list that I wanted to do more of this year!  The image is by Whipper Snapper. By the way, have you checked out their new stamps? I was so excited to see them on their new website. I know they had trouble with their website and moving it to a new server, but it was worth the wait!  I have more stamps on their way to my house.  Oh that makes me all giddy inside!
