Skiing Polar Bear Holiday Planner

 Good Friday morning everyone! Every year after the start of the school year, I run out and buy a handful of composition notebooks which are usually on clearance!  Every year about this time of the year, I design a holiday planner of some sort.  This year I have about 3 different designs because I couldn't stop myself.  

I absolutely fell in love with the Frosty Days Designer Paper by Stampin' Up.  The colors are so refreshing so I knew that I wanted to use that paper this year on my planner.  I found the perfect image by Whipper Snapper.  This guy just makes me grin from ear to ear.  I would love to give him a big ol' bear hug!

I have been extremely pleased with my purchase of the Marvy Snowflake punches that I bought from PTI.  I have been using the snowflakes on EVERYTHING and this project was no exception!  And of course, I had to use a few buttons (even if I am running low-lol)! 

I have another stack of these holiday planners to finish up this weekend.  I've been doing a little bit on them all week long.  They are coming together quite nicely!  And this is one project that makes me happy during the whole process!

Merry Little Christmas Polar Bear

I know the picture is a bit blurry on this one, but I think you can still see it enough to capture the fun and sparkle of the card!  The stamp is by Whipper Snapper Designs.  Isn't he the cutest polar bear ever?  The saying is from one of my Penny Black Clear Acrylic sets.  And guess what?  I received my Marvy Snowflake punches from Paper Trey Inc. last week, and I just love them.  I love adding them to a card or a project just like this.  It adds such a great touch.  This card made me so happy while I was making it that I made a handful more of them!  Enjoy your day!

You Rocket

Good Morning! Today is a Wednesday/Friday for me! What is a Wednesday/Friday?  It's a Wednesday that is the last day of the week-meaning I have a LONG WEEKEND!  I am VERY HAPPY about that too! 

I recently ordered this set from Eclectic Paperie to add to my collection of the Stampendous Changitos. It is called Changito in Space (how appropriate, huh?) As I was coloring this image, I was snickering away.  I pulled out my Inque Boutique paper and it was a perfect match! 

 

And just look at these other images!  Do they make you smile or what??  I couldn't decide which one I liked best!  Stay tuned for more smile-making cards!  LOL!

 

 

Glitter Sprinkles Birthday

Good Morning, Good Morning, Good Morning!  I have to quickly share this card with you because I'm all fired up to start my day! 

A couple of weekends ago I was desperated for getting some birthday cards made up. It seemed I went through my stash of cards and was very much in need of some birthday cards.  Well, I had sewn these backgrounds months ago and had a pile left of them.  So All I did was pull out extra images that I had stamped and coordinated some colors to go with it.  I plopped the image on and added a few embelishments and I was good to go.  I have to remember this time-saving tip again.  I still have a pile of card backgrounds sewn so I can do this again. I had just pieced different scraps together and sewn around the edges.  It's a good way to use some of your scraps!  Oh and the stamp is by Whipper Snapper Designs, one of my favorite companies!

Tutorial for Gift Card Holders

 

I've had lots of requests for directions on how to make the gift card holder that I posted a bit ago.  So here it is. These are quite simple to make.  First you start with a 11" x 4 1/4" piece of cardstock. 

You score it at 3" from both ends (the long way).

Next you score half way between those two scored lines which is about 2 1/2".  I have the Score-it and I can visually see what is exactly the middle by the measurements at the top. I like that option because even though you think you have the correct measurements, they can still be a bit off once you start scoring.  Once you get your third line scored, fold along your scored lines.

 

 

 

 

 

Put adhesive on as pictured. Be sure to stay close to the edge because your gift card will go in this section.  If you seal the whole thing up, you won't be able to get your gift card in it!

 

This is what it will look like once you adhere it.

 

Use your large oval punch and punch only about 1/3 to 1/2 of it.  This step is just so the recipient can grip their gift card to pull it out.

 

Next cut of just a small amount on your cutter. You are cutting the fold right off so you can insert your gift card.  I cut about 1/16" of an inch off.

Here you are! You have the basics done. Now all you have to do is the fun part. Embelish and decorate it any way that you want. I like to make a belly band around it. I cut about an inch of cardstock and wrap it around the whole gift card holder and cut off any excess. You can stamp it, tie ribbon around it, or anything you want to create a fun gift!

Hedgie Bookmarks

Good morning!  I slept half the day away!  I'm just waking up (7:59am) and it sure feels good. I never sleep in so this was a real treat for me!

Last night my friend, Bevie, hosted a virtual stamp night with a group of my friends.  Now I'm not a real night owl by any means, so I decided I better spend the whole day stamping!  WOOHOO!  It was awesome and I have tons to share with you. 

One of Bevie's challenges was to create bookmarks using envelopes.  You cut the bottom part of an envelope at an angle so that it creates a pocket.  I have been meaning to try this idea for awhile, and never realized that you actually used an envelope to make them. I love this idea. I love to read so this was right up my alley.  I covered my white envelops with Stampin' Up!'s Frosty Days Designer paper. The stamp set I used is a Penny Black Clear Acrylic Set called Holly Day Critters.  You definately get your money's worth with the clear acrylic stamps and Penny Black acrylics are VERY GOOD QUALITY!!!!!!!!  They stamp just as good of an image as a rubber stamp on wood!  I like that!  Not all acrylics are created equal!  So stay tuned because I have tons and tons of projects to share with you!

Changito Pirates

Good Saturday Morning to you!  Today's card is made using the Stampendous Clear Acrylic stamp set, called Changito Pirates.  It is so much fun adding to my Changito Collection!  LOL!  I am going to print some words onto cardstock to go along with these images.  I want to use the saying:  "I treasure your friendship" for sure.  I'm sure I can come up with a bunch more as well!  I love all of the images in the set! You can come up with different scenes for the pirates!

Twigster Gift-card Holder

My friend, Tammy, brought over the cutest gift card holder at my last stamp class. She likes to bring show and tell sometimes! I copied the general design of the giftcard here and re-designed my own front.  I grabbed an image of Mr. Twigster that I had leftover from another project and plopped him on the front. I think he is cute as can be!  The paper I used is from the mini catalog and it is called Frosty Day.  When I first looked at the little pictures in the mini catalog, I wasn't too impressed. Well apparently those little pictures DO NOT do the paper justice, because once it arrived I knew I had to order more ASAP!!!!  LOL!

Here's a look at the inside of the giftcard holder. I didn't put a gift card in so I hope you can see that it goes into the middle section there.  I love this idea!  The last few years I have figured out that gift cards are a great gift!  That way people can get what they want. I also feel good about making a little something to contain the gift card.  It gives it a more personal touch!

 

Here are the little pictures of this paper! Don't worry I will be showcasing the paper in other projects so you can get a GOOD LOOK at it!  I really love the color combinations that Stampin' Up chose for these papers!  They are not the traditional Christmas colors, and I find that very refreshing!

Darcies Tab Top Box

Here is yet another Template from Darcies. This one is the Tab Top Box and it comes in 3 different sizes. I made the small one.   For this pattern I picked whatever paper I wanted to use!  In this case it was the new Heidi Grace Reagan's Closet line.  I love the bright colors and doodles of this paper.  So I traced the template out on the paper, scored where indicated and cut out.  Then it was just a matter of assembling it! Easy as can be with the Darcies Templates!  The rest of the project is embossing it however you like and making it your own!  That is the fun part!  And of course don't forget to fill it with candy or some other treat!  For the tag I used the matching Heidi Grace Rub-ons.  This was so much fun to make and I know just who I'm going to give this to!
